During the period of transition,Chinese enterprises have been experiencing frequent and continuous organizational changes, including radical changes ( e. g. M&A ) and gradual changes ( e.g. advance in technology).Comparing to the single¯round organizational change, in continuous organizational changes the past changes could have significant influence on the present change. However, we have little knowledge about the influence of the past on the present, because of existing research mainly focus on single¯round organizational change. To explore the influence of the past organizational changes on the present change, this research will conduct the following studies: (1) investigating the transference in cognition during continuous organizational changes? that is? the cognition of past organizational change can transfer into and influence the present change; (2) examining the reciprocal causation of cognition¯output in organizational changes, that is, the cognition of the present change would increase employees?? engagement into the present change and further lead to positive outputs, which improve the cognition of the present change; (3) testing the moderation effects of the comparability of past with present changes? and organizational change benefit sharing on the cognition loop. This study provides significant theoretical and practical contributions.
